The Gold Coast
SUMMARY
(this is from the cover of the book. Thanks curiouscat for this info)
Coming in 200"Welcome to the fabled Gold Coast, that stretch on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America. Here two men are destined for an explosive collision: John Sutter, Wall Street lawyer, holding fast to a fading aristocratic legacy; and Frank Bellarosa, the Mafia don who seizes his piece of the staid and unprepared Gold Coast like a latter-day barbarian chief and draws Sutter and his regally beautiful wife, Susan, into his violent world. Told from Sutter's sardonic and often hilarious point of view, and laced with sexual passion and suspense, The Gold Coast is Nelson DeMille's captivating story of friendship and seduction, love and betrayal."

Al Pacino in the Mafia again
(thanks Anne for another article on this film)
Al Pacino will team up with director Harold Becker for the third time, in his new movie THE GOLD
COAST. The two men had already worked together on SEA OF LOVE and CITY HALL. This film should mark Pacino's return to the genre that made him famous, gangster movies. Adapted from a novel by Nelson DeMille (no relationship with Cecil B!), THE GOLD COAST follows the adventures of a powerful Wall Street lawyer who is threatened by one of the Mafia chiefs. It is not known yet if Al Pacino will play the gangster or the lawyer. Shooting will begin in November in New York, with a budget of 65 million dollars.(original French version) Al Pacino à nouveau dans la Mafia
